Drinking soda daily may harm your fertility

New research finds that sugary fizzy drinks could harm your chances of becoming pregnant.

Research has found that even drinking just one of these drinks per day is linked to reduced fertility, for both men and women.  Infertility can affect about 15% of couples and the cost to the NHS /couples can be high, as well as causing great stress.

Drinking sugary fizzy drinks, despite increasing the amount of sugar in the diet   is also tied to early menstruation (linked to poor health outcomes) and poor semen quality.

The recent study on sugary drinks and fertility showed that women who drank at least one soda per day demonstrated a 25 percent lower monthly probability of conception, while men who drank at least one soda per day had a 33 percent lower probability of successfully conceiving with their partner.

The researchers concluded that to maximize the chance of conception it would be best to cut back on sugary fizzy drinks and it will also be better for all-round health.
